Meriken Park & Koshien

Wednesday May 1st, 2002 I went to Meriken Park in Kobe to see a memorial to the Hanshin Earthquake that cause so much death and destruction in the Kansai region when it hit. Also in Kobe I went to Chinatown for lunch and to a small amusement park as well.

This is part of the memorial at Meriken
park which shows a very small part of
the destruction that happened in Kobe.

Also in Meriken park are a few
boats that appear to be from the
future like this one.

Later on in the day I went to see the Hanshin Tigers play the Dragons at Koshien Stadium. The Tigers lost 5-0, but it was still a good time and it was the first time I saw the Tigers play live in 2002.

Here's Koshien's 9 American Flags.
2 of Hanshin's best HR hitters and 2
of their best pitchers are American.

Here are some other Koshien flags
and the fans megaphones which are
banged in unison all game long.
